The Artist and the Model depicts a pared-back bedroom interior built from bold planes of colour and simplified furniture forms. At the centre of the composition, a television screen shows a monochrome image referencing the black-and-white film The Artist and the Model (2012), itself depicting an artist and a life model. This layered act of looking — painting, film, photograph, screen — sits quietly within the domestic space.

Surrounding the screen, strong colour contrasts of yellow, red, blue and green create a graphic structure that frames the scene. Personal objects, shelving and furniture are reduced to essentials, allowing the image on the television to carry both narrative and emotional weight without overwhelming the calm of the interior.

As with the rest of the series, the work explores observation, memory and everyday surroundings, presenting a familiar room that feels composed, reflective and slightly detached.
