Footbridge explores place through suggestion rather than description. Architectural forms, a sweeping arc of bridge and a glowing central light source are reduced to expressive washes, angular structures and fine linear marks. The composition balances solidity and movement, with darker geometric forms anchoring the right-hand side while colour and reflection dissolve gently across the surface.

Loose pencil lines and layered watercolour washes create a sense of construction and memory — as though the scene is being assembled and eroded at the same time. The bridge becomes both a physical structure and a visual threshold, linking built form with open space and light.

This work reflects the series’ focus on landscape as experience rather than representation. Colour, rhythm and spatial tension take precedence, inviting the viewer to move slowly through the image and find their own sense of place within it.
