This life size drawing was inspired by Caravaggio’s Narcissus. The idea of using a faceless figure in the hoodie comes about through my distrust of people in hoodies. I have a condition where it is difficult to read facial expressions and impressions are gained through general appearance. You can tell a lot to about a person by what they wear but it is also easy to jump to a conclusion. Taking things literally I have to question the need to hide ones features under a hood which immediately triggers a feeling of mistrust which raises the question, friend or foe?
